What is that?

We have been shooting for a long time (over 20 years) and I just have to say "WHAT is THAT?" Every great once in awhile I get the chance to just surf around the web and look at other photographers images.  Either I am getting to picky or "professional photographers" are getting strange and lazy.  Just because an art director for a publication picks an image, does not mean it's a good image and the style should be copied.  Every Editor /Art Director I have ever worked with has picked BAD images.  We are shocked how the so called photo-journalism craze has taken off. With our images even the photo-journalism must be perfect and finished.  With others it seems a way to be lazy.
